Week In Review
Monday, April 27th, 2009
Stocks once again shook off a jittery Monday to finish the week higher across all major markets except for the US. April is shaping up to be a very, very good month by historical standards.
Markets have been responding to generally better-than-expected corporate earnings reports. Chrysler and GM appear to be nearing acceptable re-structuring measures, and US banks were given another vote of confidence last week by US Treasury Secretary Geithner.
On the down side, look for this swine flu outbreak to have some negative effect on travel-related stocks such as airlines.
